Default 03 250ec jetting question?

Ok,, I'm working on a 03 250ec that is a friend bike,, was mine 4 years ago. I had it jetted good at the time. I pulled the carb as it runs way rich and hard to keep running. Carb was slugged up from sitting and some bad ethanol. I ran the carb in my ultrasonic carb cleaner, looks brand new. Set floats as they were way off, to 16 mm and checked jets, main180 and idle 45? I never ran that fat on either. I think it was 178/42? We run basically same altitude/temp as the last owner that had it in NC. I'm at sea level to 3k. Rarely over 95 f and high humidity. LTR needle middle position and AS carb with screw top. Also swapping rad valve to vforce3 as your reading this.
Thinking go back to 178/42 as a base? The current seams off.

Found my LTR notes,, 180 main and 48 pilot. Sounds rich so I'll stick with what's in it for now.

Steve,

That should be in the ballpark. The LTR or DDK is a good needle in the 250 without spending $$ on the JD kit, or a lot of screwing around with multi taper needles. The half clip leaner DEK may be what you need as well. VForce did not make much of a difference in jetting. Nice low to mid gains though.
