Default Sound Test info help?

I'm looking for the official rpm standard for sound testing in the U.S. for Gas Gas motorcycles. Anyone know where on the web to find that info?

I think for the 300 it is, 5550 but don't remember.

I can find every other brand and model out there but Gas Gas.

We had a booklet with all the makes and models through the years and have lost it. We are trying to put together a new book for the club and others in our series.
Any help would be appreciated.

Roscoe

The AMA has a nice sound testing booklet you can get for free.
If I remember, it does list Gas Gas.

Here' some good info...

Thanks gasgasman.

The standard is tested at half the maximum rated rpm.

So If I knew the maximum rpm data for the ec range I would have what I need.

Can't find that info either.

Anyone know those maximum rpm numbers?

If it is SAE J1287 it is half rated speed measured by tacho to an accuracy of +- 3%.
According to the spec if it is a racing bike the following equation applies:

Test speed = 30600/ stroke (mm) or 12000/ stroke (in).

If you need a pdf copy of the sae sound test let me know.
