I reckon rock wool loft insulation would work...

FMF 2T packing is $7.50. How cheap do you want to get?

Fiberglass insulation works. That said, proper silencer packing is dirt cheap, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

There are certain types of flame proof insulation that will work ,the pink and yellow will just blow out and make the rider directly behind you all itchy.

Regular yellow or pink fiberglass insulation from Lowes or Home Depot has worked just fine for me. Pack it in snug and it stays put for a long time.

Default Newbie to 2-strokes question

When do you know that you need to repack the muffler?

Sound checks is a good way of knowing, however, I will do mine twice a year! Don't like to get it fouled with to much oil....messy to clean up after.

A good PM program goes a long way!

yeah as soon as i asked i found lol. found it under 6 dollars even!
before i was only looking on ebay, and finding the kit with the packing already packed and shaped. 30 bux seemed a little high imo!
mine has about 35 hours on it and its starting to seep spooge, so i figured its about time to change it..
