Default Resetting cam chain tensioner..how?

Hey all, my trusty 06 FSE has passed the 8000klm mark and has been faultless. Over the last two rides I have noticed it getting noisier and am hoping it's just the cam chain. I just read after searching that someone reset their CCT and it quitened down. Thought it might be worth a shot before I start pulling it apart.

I did a search and couldn't find anything, please don't flame me if I missed it .

Thanks in Advance

Cheers

Since no one has replied I thought I might be of some assistance. However, I know nothing about the 2006 FSE. Re: the cam chain tensioner, if it like the earlier years, it needs no adjustment as it re-adjusts as the chain loosens.
If you have a manual chain adjuster than it would be similar to the one found on the DRZ 400. In fact the Manual ca chain adjuster that can be purchased for the DRZ from ThumperTalk will also fit the earlier model GG 4 stroke motors.

So if you have a self adjusting cam chain adjuster you might have to check to see if it is working properly.

If you have a manual adjuster you can go to thumper talk and review the numerous posts re: cam chain adjusting and the DRZ. There are even UTube videos re: the DRZ and manual cam chain adjusting.

Hope this helps

Tony

It's automatic. Not sure how resetting could make it better. It can't apply more tension from resetting.

I believe it is the same tensioner as the DRZ400 and if you want to have control over the tension, TT sells a manual version for that model.
