Constant Energy Inductive Coils?

I was on the ATK site and seen there FI bikes all had 12 volt batteries with constant energy inductive coils. Is that a capacitor to aid in starting?

I was looking at a way of adding a dedicated capacitor or battery for my ECU so if my battery gets drained I would still be able to kick start my bike.

Not shaw about the 03s but the 08s can be kick started and ran with out any battery. I would try to kick start it with out the battery first? To see if you need to go down that path.

I can't kick start my 2003 450 FSE to save my life.

I got a Shorai lithium ion battery, that had about 50% more cranking capacity than the one that was specked and it can start the bike (when cold) without many issues 15-20 times without needing to be hooked up to a charger, or bike ran.

My goal is to make my bike EASY to kick start (cold) if it's the last thing I do. I would never by a bike without a back up starter but it seems that's what I did.

I can't afford to buy another bike right now so I'm putting a lot of time and energy making this bike into what I originally thought it was suppose to be.

Get one of these compact jumpers. Slightly bigger than a cell phone.
We had a Range Rover at work that we totally disconnected the battery, hooked in the jumper pack and started the Rover five times.
