Default Can we have a civil 2020 Gasser thread now?

Getting close surely? Curious as to what changes they'd make. No whinging about Estarts or we get in trouble.

This is true. As is everything on the interwebs.
Just inspired by KTM's release of '20MY bikes. Not expecting anything ground breaking from GG for another year or 2. Just not sure what they'd change to make any significant improvements to the bikes(bar a new motor/in case starter set up/some sort of injection)?

I used to really want to see an injected 2t, but after seeing all the weight it adds and the unnecessary complexity it doesn?t seem worth it to me. The estart issues can be resolved easily enough.

If we get down to things what's expected sometime in the future for the 2T :

1 redesigned engine block
2 internal starter
3 injection

with that order since I do not expect an internal starter to be fitted in the current engine.
Till then...

Deliver the GP's and 200's would be nice.
Further refinements on quality.

Most likely not a lot of changes, but solidify the range or bikes available.
Ranger, EC, XC, GP. 200,250,300

I'd be expecting 4Ts before new 2T motors.

A lot of investment in a new high performance 4T engine!

But yes get the 200s made would be a good start.

It's gonna be interesting. I remember GG promising a "major product announcement" every six months at one point. But I can't recall for how long they planned on doing that for..

While I personally have had nearly zero issues with my e-start in well over 100 hours of runtime even through a Canadian winter I'd love to see a more direct style integrated into the cases like everyone else has done.

a 2020 GP would be great so that I can buy one!

The 200's are almost a non-starter now. Beta has put out a great 200 that is smaller (like all Beta's and old small framed KTM 200's) and a lot lighter than what the GG version will probably be. Shame. I was really hoping GG could capture that market and bring a lot more riders to the brand. That said, get us the GP's.

I would like to see all the same improvements on getting the bike lighter (engine design) and an upgraded starting system. It would probably also be smart for them to get in to the 4T market again with something in the 300-350cc range, however, they got to get it right the first time so I hope they tread very slowly and cautiously before releasing one.

I honestly wouldn't change anything chassis or suspension or running gear wise. Love the current engine too but a lighter/smaller version would be a nice upgrade. Keep it all mechanical(PV/carb) as long as possible.
I reckon a 320-340cc 4T to break the mould a little. But ya dead right they gotta nail it first go as 4Ts haven't been their strong point in years past. Maybe a couple more years of quality 2T production. Unfortunately they miss half the market without 4Ts(unlike Sherco/Beta/TM) so hamstring their sales somewhat.
