Default 2015 EC-F 250 engine cuts off

Hi all,

after switching from a GG EC 300 - 2012 to a beta 300rr 2t and to a Sherco 300 4t, I got back to GG and bought a 2ndhand 2015 EC-F because I am starting to like the 4 stroke thing (never thought I was gonna like it )

Anyway, the bike rides very good and is in a decent condition. He has got 3300kms and piston is already changed.
The problem is when I go flat out for a while and then decelerate the bike cuts off when I almost got stopped totally.

I have no idea why. I also don't really understand wheter the little lever on the clutch is a hot start or a choke (it's stuck on my bike at the moment, can't move it).

The small lever will be the hot start mechanism. It pulls a plunger on the carb to allow a leaner mixture to assist in firing when hot/flooded.

If it's stuck open you could be running quite lean.

I'd be fixing that as the first point of contact. You'll see where it feeds into the carb at the top. Plastic 14mm plastic threaded insert.

The fastening bolt for the clutch lever and hot start lever can lock up the hot start if over tightened.

The cut out issue - fuel starvation maybe? Check fuel tank vent hose, fuel flow from fuel tap.

What is your idle speed set at? Small displacements four strokes normally likes idle speed set a bit on the high side.

How is you mixture adjuster set? Std is 1.5 turns out from fully closed.

Just FYI, hotstart was locked, rusted. Whole lotta job to get him out..
Another problem was a broken oring in the airscrew.
I dont know what exactly was the fix, but he runs very smooth.
