Default 2012 ec250e rear spring

Hello!

Got a 2012 ec250e that I have been riding for about 2 years. As I'm getting used to the bike now, I realize that my rear shock is bottoming out pretty easily. Also, because of the excessive sag, the front end feels very stiff in tight trails making it very slow and difficult to turn. Meaning its causing too much rake on the forks.

Obviously this should have been taken care of a LONG time ago but seriously my riding really only consists of putt putting around 2nd or 3rd gear low rpms, essentialy just sight seeing. unless I'm going over big ruts or decent jumps I really don't notice. Or didn't really care.

My question is this. Where do I order the actual spring?Like most parts for this bike I end up having to spend hours finding parts of ebay half way across the world. Or parts that fit the latest model but mine. Or cross referencing part numbers. Anything I find on ebay seems to only fit the 2018+ models. Would a dealership have what I need?

Weight: 205-215. prob 235+ geared up. Thinking 5.8-6.0kg spring? Seems about what everyone else my weight is riding.

Do you have an Ohlins rear shock, or a Sachs?
Depending on the shock brand, the spring's diameter may be different.
However, there are springs available from different sources depending on your place on the planet. Are you in the US? or Europe?

https://www.motocrosscenter.com/shop/en/ seems to have good stock of parts if you are in Europe.

In the US there are also several good suppliers. They have been listed in several recent threads.

I think a dealership should be able to get you what you need, but many will have to order it in.

I have the Ohlins rear shock. I live in the US so ill have to dig around the site and try to find those stores.

I did email a somewhat local gas gas parts supplier about my situation. I am currently waiting for their response.

My guess is I remove the spring and measure everything.

I did go on racetechs website and saw that in their rear spring ordering brochure they also want the same masurements if not more.

In addition to my question I found the part number printed on the spring. Does that determine the size/measurements? Or do I physically need to measure it? For front springs is it the same method?

Spring number is: Ohlins 00596-10/52 L1012

You would have to remove the spring.

Use you caliper to measure the inside/outside diameter- where it sits on the spring saddle. Then the length.

I'm sure the springs they have can't be that far off.

So today I figured I would actually go through the process of getting my sag numbers. So far I got 111mm sag with sitting. About 106 standing. I was thinking It would be way more for how unresponsive the front end is. Should I still upgrade to a slightly stiffer spring to level out the bike? New steering bearings are on the way...
