Post 08 Fsr 515

While over here in Spain this week, there was a Spanish magazine called "enduro sport" that released their December issue on Friday and the front cover had a GasGas FSR515 front and center on the cover with a KTM 530 in an inlet picture (that is a first seeing a GasGas take center stage). There must have been 15 issues circulating the factory on Friday with everyone reading it and smiling while conversing about it. My Spanish being as horrible as it is, I tried to run a "free translation" on the internet to post here, but that came out worse than expected. So I asked the American Engineer and head of R & D to get a professional translation done for us unilingual folks. In the meantime he told me everyone was excited because the magazine said it had the better horsepower and a stronger delivery than any big-bore they had thrown a leg over. While the KTM 530 dies out at 8000 rpm, the GasGas continues to pull strong even through 10,000 RPM.

The Factory was especially excited as this magazine has never given the GasGas respect before and has always been pro-orange! They are excited and will now have two 515's and two 450's sent next week to the US so we can give to the magazines. Production for the 515 and FSR are not til January, so if you want one you better order through your local dealer. If you do not have a local dealer, help us get you a good dealer in your area.

They are also going to translate another magazine that tested all 7 450's and one rider rated he FSR second, and another two rider's rated it 3rd. Things are going well for GasGas and Hebo clothing just signed Cervantes to ride Hebo clothing in 2008!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking forward to reading the reviews. I hope the FSR515 plans to race in the E3 class this year.

I believe Dale and Brian from GasGas are meeting next week to discuss the 450 and 515 for just that reason.

I was looking at the 530 a couple weeks ago but I just dont like the suspension/chassis much. If this is dot it would be an answer to my need for a streetable bike. I run my 250ec on the road(have it ds'ed out) but would like to feel better passing the man with the badge with a truely dot bike..

Glenn,
If I knew hed go that low I'd of snapped it up,, I think I have a buyer for my 03 for early spring. So I'd keep the 97 for real fun and the 4 for ds type stuff. Just cant seem to make the jump to the ktm 950/990 like my local buddies. I like the new 690 but its just too big for off road.

It was on ebay twice. First listing was higher with no bids. He finally let it go to a guy in south Jersey for dual sport. It was a fun bike, just too big and fast for serious woods stuff we do. A little light in the flywheel and a bit too much "pop and die" when things got ugly. Perfect Hancock bike though. Everytime I rode it, it let me know it would bite me if I didn't respect it.

He threw some $$ into the WR250. Rebuild, head mod, PWK carb, some more suspension work and a few other details. He was always faster on the WR anyway.

I'm selling the Night Rod ASAP. Looking into a GG125 to set up for hare scrambles, if I can get one for a good price.
