Default Synergy seals Marzocchi 45's Help

Doing the seals on my 98 EC250, went with the Synergy flex seals. Installation was easier than I expected with the strip and whatnot, but I'm having problems getting the snap ring back in the groove.
I put the metal spacer ring in, then the oil seal. At this point the groove for the ring is still accessible, but after I put the hard plastic back up ring in, I can barely see the groove.
Anyone used these seals on the Marzocchi Magnum 45's? What am I missing?

I've seen him post here before, got on the website, they have a contact page. I sent them a message about my predicament. I don't know if they're the wrong seals or if I'm doing it wrong.

The fact that you managed to get them on easily makes me think they are on wrong lol. I really battled getting them on my Sachs forks

They don't let air in or leak but have a LOT of stiction

I wouldn't call them going on easy, just easier than I expected. I am a plumber by trade so that may have helped me. I sent Synergy a message a couple days ago and haven't gotten a response yet. I'll give them a couple days to get back to me, seemed like they preferred being contacted via email versus a phone call.
I mean its soooooo close but just not close enough.
