Default Converting a EC200 to a EC300

I have heard that it is pretty easy to convert the EC200 engine to a 300, but not sure exactly what I would have to do, any suggestion or information would be great, thanks.

Sorry - but this is not true. The cases are different on the 200 from the 300 and the crank is different, etc.

It is easy to swap the top ends between a 250 and a 300...

You probably can swap the entire motor in your case without alot of issue...

Yes - this applies to your 2000 model.

i did it, although not the way you would think. pull complete 200 motor out. place complete 300 motor in. go riding. you can use the clutch and ignition and engine covers from the 200. but the cases/crank/cylinder and head gotta be 250/300.

Great thanks, just to satisfy my own curiosity couldn't I just get the case bored and throw on a 300 cylinder and piston or is the difference between the two motors to much, thanks.

cylinders will fit, stroke is 65mm on 200, stroke is 72mm on 250/300

Is that the only difference is the stroke or is the bore different as well, I have the resources to do the machine work for next to nothing so if I can make it bigger and better I am all for it

The bore, stroke and cases are all specific to the 200, whereas the 250 and 300 share cases and stroke, only the bore and piston are different. They do however share the same length rod, that of a CR250.

You could potentially make some sort of hybrid using the 200 crank, but I would guess that the 250 and 300 cylinder will be completely wrong in terms of desirable squish, and port timings.

You may be able to machine/epoxy the cases and fit a 250/300 crank, and then fit the 250 or 300 barrel, but I don't know if primary drive and all that are the same.

Would be an interesting undertaking though, possible? I would say it is, but it certainly wont be straight forward.

Maybe boring out the 200 to accept a bigger piston?
