i just sent my collar from my gpr back to gpr because the one i had was for 2009 and lower and was to large for my 2010. i talked to them and they told me they are aware of the problem and are trying to rectifyit as they werent aware of it. ive been told by some of the guys on the west coast they also had this problem but they shimmed the collar to make it work

I am always confused by steering dampers, nobody in Ireland uses them. What exactly are they for? Are they more suited to open desert style riding than tight enduro riding?

I'm running a Motosportz damper and love it.

yes generally not needed for enduro riding, but there are often fast sections between the slow sections and when you hit a lurker in the long grass you thank your stars you had a damper on.
I had one on my previous bike but have not got it on the GG yet, but I think i will get it soon, especially as the GG front end seems pretty loose as well

I went to put mine on today and had the same problem.

It is about 2mm too big and won't tighten up around the steering stem.

On my 2010 I used the steering tube clamp from my 2007 KTM 300XC Scotts top mount kit.

The clamp from 2008 gasgas was too big.

So... clamp from 2007 ktm works for sure, and I am pretty sure this same clamp was used on ktm from 2007 to the present (for 2 stroke 250s and 300s)

Cheers,

Does GPR make an above bar mount for their stabilizer?
The sub mount raises my bars too high.

Are you using a V4 or an older damper? Trying to decide on a sub mount.

V4.
I may end up selling it, if I can't get the above bar mount.
