01 EC300 Spark Arrestor

I have an 01 300 with a Doma pipe. currently has a FMF Turbine Core 2 mounted. I was told by the person that I bought it from that it was off a Kawasaki KX-250 as I recall. I'd like to install one of the FMF Q mufflers but see that the earliest application on the FMF site is 2007. So I guess my question would be can you put the Q on an 01 year model, or just stick with what I have? I've seen that one of the threads mention a subframe change around 05 so I suppose the 07 item won't fit. Also someone tried to mount a Kawasaki Q and mentioned that it hit the fender. Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks Carl

Hi Carl,
FYI - Your current silencer is made by fmf specifically for the gasgas.

Have you looked at the db snorkel?

That's odd as FMF didn't have an application when I phoned them this morning. I see that GoFasters has both types listed however the Q will only fit 07 and newer. I guess that I will stay with the existing muffler as fitting the Q would probably require surgery or possibly the newer rear subframe if you can go that route. Sounds expensive, thanks for the help!

An FMF Q from a 99 KX fit the 05-06 with minor modification. Not sure about 03.

The silencer was purchased in '01 when I bought the bike - they may not make it for the specific application any longer.

Well based on the last post which I had looked at it's pretty clear that the Q muffler won't properly fit on the 01 300. I went ahead and picked up a spare TC2 from GoFasters. It will be interesting to see if the part number is the same as the 99 KX-250. Again thanks for all the help!
