Default ec 250 power valve governor what year gg did change from 4 ball to 6 ball

my history with gg is new 97 new 98 had a go on a 99 hated the power to mx no balancer[ loved the 98s two bikes in one power stupidly sold it to a mates son in 016 hope to get it back soon ] then they fitted wp forks 02/03 had a go on a 02 300 to much for me . got a new 05 ec 250 loved the handling but the power was soft .in about 06 a mate gave me a trusty adjustable pv cover the difference was night and day better .always though that the power was a bit flat .in about 016 was told to remove the reed spacer had to use a 98 250 boysen valve that got the power i wanted . then i got a 013 300 sopped the trusty pv cover over to that then it got stolen just over a year ago so back on the 05 with no trusty iv fitted a flywheel weight better suzuki needle not that impressed liked the n1eg i only ride in woods no mx . so now im looking at the power valve gov .just got one of a 98 ec of ebay it only has 4 balls not 6 . looking on gg parts book [only go back to 2000 ] there 6 ball . thinking less balls slower opening better mid range power? looking at the 015 on adjustable pv the ball ramps are in the gear the shaft has a 5m screw the pin sits in a slot so you can change tension on the spring . tempted to get a 015 shaft and see if it will fit my my pv set up only ?20 .the problem i can see is that it will lift the pv open when i wined the adjusting screw in any one got a 015 pv gove to hand need slot placement .thanks

The weight of the balls is what determines the opening rate.
6 balls just spreads the load out evenly.

You can change the shims to reduce or increase the spring force on the balls and power valve activation rpm.
