Gasser clutches can be sensitive to different oils but no problems so far.

Went out yesterday using the Penrite oil and didn't notice any difference to what was previously in the gearbox. Gonna keep using the locally made product Went over the bars at about 40 kmph, that's gonna sting for a few days though

Default Sevice and Rebuild

2019 EC300 Six Day bought to replace a 2011 EC300 Six Day back about March. Lots of the standard upgrades ... transferred my Motorsportz steering damper over to 2019 fit just fine FWIW. 50 hours on the bike now so had oil change on shock performed locally, refreshed inner and outer oils in forks (inner was slightly cloudy and could easily gone double life) outer was clean but I had changed it at about 22 hours to adjust the volume. Changed oil in steering damper and checked shock linkage for free play and ease of movement. Checked spokes for tightness and wheels for true (ok). Changed out piston which I should have left in for another 50hrs but hey I was into the engine and had already bought the parts. Piston had NO measurable wear and cylinder looked excellent - piston top was clean as wissle (not normal based on my experience) the head I wiped clean with rag. Moly coating on piston was 80% or better intact. Lean JD jetting with non-ethonal 91 fuel using 40:1 intercepter Amsoil FWIW ... about 80 trail miles to a tank with slight spooge. That is the old piston in the cylinder with the top wiped off!!

Been sitting here trying to decide whether to just get my Gasser back on the trail or keep riding my KDX220 and go through my Gasser completely. Still worried there might be some damage I'm not seeing from my nasty head on back at the end of March. I also have another set off forks for it now I need to go through and an electric start setup I picked up to figure out.

Bought a litre of Penrite for the gearbox, I run the 10w-40 in my road bike and I like it.

out of curiosity, why didn't you go with the MC-GO gear oil from Penrite?

I wanted synthetic, I also like Penrite's write up about their oil. I use a similar oil in my roadbikes and I like the performance/feel.

ok, but my understanding is the synthetic part is of greater benefit to the engine lubing part of the oil (ie in a 4t) and can cause drag on the wet clutch. Anyway i will give the MC-Go a bash in my trials bike and give some feedback

Default Refilling after oil change

Hello,

Always found filling up after an oil change hard work. Thought about it - got a big syringe and a funnel to fit and made life easy
