Clutch removal help
Hey all,
Trying to remove the clutch basket on my 05 250EC, and there is a metal tab that is bent over to hold the nut in place. I understand how to unbend it to loosen the nut, but what do you do when you put it back in? What do you use to bend it back into place? Do you need a new locking thinger if you remove it?? HELP!!! Thanks! |

I use a pair of channel lock pliers to bend the lock washer back over the nut; then I will use a punch and hammer to bend it down over the nut a bit closer.
If I damage the washer (crack or "hard crease" it, which weakens it), I replace it. Good Wrenching and Riding to You! Jim
