Default E-Rider oil drain tube

Anyone know if this technique & device would work on an EC300?

Apparently on the KTM300's you can tip the bike to the side and unscrew the oil drain plug. With the bike leaned over, no oil will come out. Then insert this little threaded tube, tip the bike back up, and voila - oil drains cleanly into whatever container.

I'd like to use this for draining oil directly after a ride in the staging area while the bike is warm. I live in the city so I'm hesitant to fire up a 2-stroke in my drive-way just to let it heat up. Call me paranoid -- or just a considerate neighbor.

I own a 97 KTM 250 and use the erider tube. Works awesome as advertised, no mess at all. Of course the oil drain is on the side below the shifter.

Sounds good to me, as long as you can lean the bike over far enough for it not to leak when the drain plug is removed, as the GG drain is just off center. What is the thread on the KTM? Any plastic tube that fits snug would work though. Honestly I've never done it that way but its a good idea.

I just thought it would be a very convenient and clean way to drain the oil into a small container after riding while still in the staging area with a warmed up engine.

Have you ever pulled the drain plug, and had the magnet stick to the frame rail that is very close, causing the oil stream to be deflected and fill the skid plate? This idea has merit, in fact next oil change I'll try it with some large plastic tubing.

Careful build-up of silicone on the skidplate will direct draining oil to where you want it to go. I coated a piece of of carboard tubing (toilet tissue) with silcone and set it in place on my 2000 EC300. It worked great, but I screwed it up and need to do it again on both bikes.
