Default Ec200 top end

Hi gents,

Am about to order a new piston for my 2013 Ec200 and just want to double check what I'm about to order is correct....

The bike has aprox 65 hours, the cylinder in marked A and the current piston is an s3 vertex type A with 62.44 printed on the top.

After some research I want to go with a Wossner piston but according to their website the A piston for the ec200 measures 62.5mm which is a bit larger than the current OEM one. Will this be safe to use given its an A piston?

The other manufacturers all look to only have 62.5mm pistons for the ec200 as well.

The std bore is 62.50mm. 62.44 piston would be "A" size, 62.45 "B" etc.
The Wossner A piston will be fine. Always a good practice to measure the bore if you have the tooling.

I've done some more reading and it seems like Wossner quotes the bore size rather than the piston size. They say the piston has a clearance of 0.05mm which would mean the piston itself should measure 62.45mm.

Can anyone confirm this?

I did exactly that on my 13 200 at 70hrs no problem.wossnerA for vertexA.the small end bearing supplied was wrong width so check it against the old.the correct one is a yz250 part crossover.
The gasket for the coolant 't' on the head
is not included in the set,and the washer on the small coolant drain bolt may disintegrate when you loosen it.
Dont pull the pv linkage rod up too much at any stage,*on reassembly of pv rod to pv actuator (rh top) its easy to accidentally do this as you tighten nut clockwise.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the tips. They are great bikes aren't they!

Where did you buy the Wossner? Trying to find a reputable seller that stocks them and ships to NZ.

The 2015 EC200 is a good bike in my opinion. I have one, and had it since 2015. I really like the way it handles.
I cannot se a reason why the pistons should be different between the years.

Generally, parts availability has been good so far, the future is hard to predict. Marzocchi fork parts can be hard to come by, but normal things like seals and bushes are no problem.
