Quick question about dual map switch position
Hi, this might be dumb but just got an 07 ec300 and was curious which position on the switch is for sun and for rain. Up for sun im guessing?

Just so we are clear. Skinny/smaller part of switch sticking up = rain. Big part sticking up = sun. ??

On my 07 you push the switch forward for rain and back towards you for sun.
You will feel the difference in the pick up from stopped to about half throttle. It is a little snappier with it switched to sun. Cheers Mark |

No, other way around. Push the big bit for sun. The only place I can really notice the difference is, on the rain setting the "edge" is taken off the top end hit. This is on a 250.

So if you push the big part (LOWER part of switch) inward, then you are on the sun setting..

Well, on mine, then big bit is on the bottom, and there is a picture of the sun by it. The skinny bit is on top and there is a pic of a cloud. Even if you were blindfolded, you could tell when you are on "rain" because there is a noticable reduction in top end hit. ( assuming you could ride far enough without falling off or crashing into something...... have you ever closed your eyes for a time when riding? Man, that is one freaky feeling, but I digress..)
Sorry, I just reread your post. Yes, push the big bit in for sun.

Big in is sun, little in (top) is rain. to test, get the engine down in the revs and open it up. it will be alot happier in rain then sun.

I removed my switch and wired it in the sun position, soft on the bottom with a huge midrange. Just wish I could get a bit more on top for big loose climbs.

What intersets me about this is the number of different descriptions of the effect of the 2 settings. Does anyone know exactly what the mapping looks like, anyone have graphs perhaps?
Obviously depends on individual engine setups - port timing, squish, timimg, jetting, pipe etc. but I would love to see a chart of the actual mapping.
