Default Need frame info 05 to 07/09 to 10/11 to newer??

Ok guys I am thinking about getting a newer frame for my 05 200 to update the geometry and am curious as what frame geometry has changed from 05 and newer. I think the 07-09 have a different geometry?? I am sure the 10/11 are different as the 10's feel more nimble and are narrower than my 05 in the gas tank area. And I have no clue as to the newer ones from 12's up. Also are the triple clamps/forks compatible with the newer frames?? The same goes with swing arm and shock. Any help would be much appreciated. If I do this it would be a winter project and thought now would be a good time to start thinking about it. Thanks guys

I upgraded my 06 with the "Transformation kit". No changes to the chassis apart from the rear subframe. New tank and seat. Afterwards, the bike became, as you say, narrower in the gas tank area. I felt it was easier to ride afterwards. My point is that the bike feels different with the same frame.
If you browse all the parts list on Gasgas.es you can check when things like the swingarm changed. My impression is that the swingarm has been the same for a long time. My bet would be that you can use your forks, shock and swingarm in the 11 frames.

The 12 and newer frames are quite different, but again, check the parts lists. I would not be surprised if the triple clamps / forks are the same. Perhaps also the swingarm, but not the link and shock.

There was a change in the engine cases some time around 04-05. I am not sure when. If you have the older engine cases, you'll have to be sure that they will fit the newer frames.

Thank you as that is exactly what I was looking for. So the gas tank, seat, & subframe swap made a big difference in the way the bike felt. Did you use a 11 tank?? We just picked up a 10 ec250 and the first thing I notice it seemed easier to ride. Then I noticed it was narrower in the gas tank area. So I measured the difference between the 05 & the 11. There was about 3/4" or about 19mm narrower between the shrouds so the gas tank is defiantly narrower.

yes, to me it did. I think the plastics also play a role here.

I recall hearing the engine mounts were moved after 2005 or 2006.

We just picked up the 10 250 so I will check that maybe today after its first woods ride. That is if it warms up some. Its snowing 15 miles west of me right now in Grayling Mi. This has been crazy weather lately around here. 2 days ago it was 83*. Right now 38*

I'm stuck in a timewarp. I love my 07, but mates 10, 13,15 all feel bigger/taller and that just makes them too tall for me.
