New to gasgas. Just purchased 2015 ec250
Hi guys I'm new to gasgas and just purchased a near new 2015 ec250 e start over here in Australia. Being a mechanic I wasn't happy with the way the previous owner had put it together so I pulled it down and went right over it.
So what are some of the things I need to look out for or do to improve the bike. I've already need to play around with the float level in the carb as it keep leaking out the overflow while on the side stand. I also moves the map switch higher up to keep it away from water and to better protected. Loving the bike so far Iv only travelled 20klm form a total of 90 on the bike. |

Hi and welcome to the family!
If the bike is running fine, and you are loving it ... why do you want to "improve" it ? Just ride it! I'd do the usual, change the fluids, grease the bearings, etc, ride it hard for a while, then see what needs to be done.

check that the rear brake hose is not rubbing on the engine where it loops around

Not so much improve the bike overall but things I need to do to make sure I don't get into trouble out riding the trails Like what swazi_matt mentioned. Over time issue arise I'm just trying get on top of them before it's to late. The float still needs a little tweaking as fuel strickles out while on the stand and it doesn't rev out cleanly

Thanks guys, ive been a fan of gasgas for awhile but never brought one due to lack of dealers and parts availability. This one was too good to pass up on.
The jetting is stock 175 main, 42 pilot, n1ef needle. Im going to get the float level right first before playing with the jetting. It runs fine if I thrash it but as soon as I easy up it(trail pace) it doesn't rev clean over 3/4 throttle. |

Last weekend I crashed and even bent the brace a little. Can't say how damaged the radiator would have been without a brace, most likely I would have had to replace it. *I have removed all switches from the handlebar, and run only a stop switch that is integrated in the brake pump clamp. I tend to wreck my switches nd they are expensive. I have placed the map switch on a radiator hose, as some bikes have from the factory. Mine was originally placed on the handlebar. *I have also removed (or rather not replaced the completely destroyed) tail light. Gets destroyed sooner or later. *Short Jitsie levers. *Aluminium handguards. *Last winter I bought an Enduro-Tech headlight. Expensive, but very good. I use it only during winter, during summer I run the OEM lamp (as it isn't dark outside when I ride). *TM Design chain slider and chain guard. Lasts a lot longer than OEM, but are also more expensive. I think you will be very happy with your 15 model. Mine has run approx 115 hours now and sure shows signs of being used, but no problems so far.

Welcome! GasGas makes awesome enduro bikes and I'm sure you'll start to love it!
If you want really good low end torque, I would suggest you to buy slide #6, the difference between original #7 and #6 is huge. Pulls almost like 300 now, super low end. My jetting is currently 182 main, 42 pilot and N3CJ needle. It's smooth, very good low and top end and does not take much fuel. |
