Only 5 gears? Should I have 6?

Hi guys. My problem is pretty basic. The technical information for my 2007 EC250 says my transmission should be 6 speed. I only have 5 gears. Do I have a problem here or is it possible that it only has a 5 speed transmission?
Please help me as I'm a bit hesitant to go out on ot now in case my gearbox is shagged.

Some of the MX versions had a four speed gear box.

Are you the original owner?
On some endurocross bikes, they would remove gears to save weight.

Whoa, bizarre. I think you'll have to drain fluids and pop the sidecover off, then count the shift star. Oil and water probably needed a change. . .
