2007 EC200 Hobby Questions..
Good day everyone.
I bought the "Hobby" a couple of months ago and overall I am pleased with it. However, it has been more of an issue than i anticipated to get information and parts for the bike. Most recently, i tried ordering a Gnarly FMF for it, but in the drop down menu on the FMF site, it only goes as recent as 2002 for the 200cc. Can anyone shed some light on this? Am I able to order a pipe for a different sized bike that wil fit mine? Also, I plan on ordering some stiffer springs for the front forks but I can not find anywhere (on the bike, or in the manual) which kind of susp. i have. The manual only covers Ohlins and Marz, however, i have neither of these. I can see that my rear shock is 'Sachs' or something like that. It may just have to wait until winter when i open the forks up. And back to the pipe. I have pretty well decided that I am going to get a Gnarly pipe unless someone thinks that there is a better route for my bike. I decided this becuase i want more low end. Also, what silencer would be best with it? Thanks. |

If forks are black they will be Marzoc shivers which was 07 fitment. They are kinda harsh std.
Forget the pipe and pay for a head reshape/squish correction from someone like RB and look up jetting suggestions for a new needle. The old LTR one worked well in my 200 but headwork is crucial too.

I've recently changed the needle and main jet, just waiting on the pilot now. It was neccesary to do so as I'm at sea level.
As for the forks, they're silver but they do have marz shiver stickers on them , but I believe that they're falsly advertised. Why do you say forget the pipe? |

Cause you'll get much better bang for your buck by having the squish band head mod done. Did it on my ec200 and it made a big difference. Also makes it easier to sort your jetting.

What is the recommened clearance for the 200?
And would you suggest getting the head shaped or simply adjust the head gasket according to the clearance? |

Thank you for the feedback thus far. I have been doing some research into squish clearances and I'm glad you brought it up, as this is my first 2 stroke and im learning this as I go. However, I would still like to find out which kind of FMF Gnarly i would need in order to properly fit my bike as i have had no luck tracking it down.

Somewhere between 0.8 am 1mm would be ideal. But you can't just skim the head to that or the compression will be too high and require 200 octane gas, which is hard to find on this planet. It needs reshaping. Oh yeah, mine came with two base gaskets, I removed one.
