The GG stator doesn't look very good. It would normally look just like the KTM stator. I think you'll be good to go once you've done the swap. I wouldn't worry about the actual resistance values; that info is from a 2006 manual. As long as you get readings that are somewhat similar it will be OK.

The good news is that for the first time since I have owned this bike I have voltage at the head and tail light! The bad news is that all the lights are burned out... My new custom made harness works well and looks like it belongs there.

Edited to add: I measured 14VAC at the headlight at idle, and it would spike up to 17-18VAC with a good whack of the throttle.

I am going to order new lights front and rear, as well as a few spare ignition cover gaskets. Hopefully the regulator is ok, I see no voltage specs on the replacement lighting... I may swing for a kickstand too!

Thanks for all the help Neil, if you are ever out west send me a note, I owe you a cold one!

I filmed the whole process so I will post a link once I get everything edited down and uploaded.

Default Video: Replacing stator with KTM unit.

I have attached the link below for the video I made troubleshooting and repairing my stator. I did not find much help in the manual or online (except here of course) so I figured I would film this in case anyone else is ever in this boat... New lights and regulator should be here this week!

Default Update: Lights Are On!

Quick update, my new lights and regulator arrived today and I am glad I ordered a new regulator. The old one must have been bad because I read 14VAC at idle and 18V on the pipe, I now get 10-12VAC at the head and tail lights. Satusfied with that I plugged the new lighting in and we have head, tail and brake lights now!

Now to figure out why this kickstand bushing is too big for the kickstand I ordered with it... something about bushing part numbers ending in b vs c I think. Always something with this bike 😆

It's good to see that the new AC regulator is holding the voltage down. Many have had issues with excess voltage in years past.

Good to know! I will keep an eye on it since it is easy to test voltage at the head light.
