Default Hi

Hi guys, my name is Jasper and I'm from Belgium. I'm 32 years old and I've been racing mx since the age of 8. Last year, me and one of my riding buddies decided to try something else and started riding enduro. I first bought a kdx 200, soon after my first Gas gas, a 2007 ec 250. We then decided to try some competition and competed in the Belgian national enduro championship. I loved it! So as I was surrounded by new bikes every race and felt my gasser was outdated I bought a brand new 2013 ec 300 for really cheap since the 2014 models were already out!
I've been lurking on this forum, but now,I thought, before asking questions , the least I could do is introduce myself.
I've put the n3cj needle in my bike and the 178 needle after reading the jetting posts. Now I'm really happy with how my bike performs, although the suspension is way to soft as it bottoms out in big breaking bumps and G-outs.

This is my 2007

My first race on the '07

And then some Pics with the 2013

Nice one Jasper. Sounds (and looks) like the new steed is treating you well.

In regards to the suspension, whats it equipped with?

Well, it's equipped with marzocchi forks and a sachs shock! I made it stiffer with the clickers. It works alright for technical stuff and riding around, but on the special stages, whicnh resemble motocrosstracks alot, I don't feel too confident! I need something inbetween.
I still ride my crf 450 and yz 250 on mxtracks and these feel so planted on high speeds and big impacts, but I wouldn't want to ride them on rocky, slow hillclimbs requiring lots of traction!

Welcome. I got to say, you have two things going for you now?
#1. You started racing a man's sport.
#2. You started racing a mans sport on a mans bike now!!

I'm kidding, you can race and ride anything you like. Welcome aboard.

45mm open chamber marzocchis. No amount of work will get them feeling as nice as the KYB SSS forks, but a respring and revalve should definitely add a bit more compliance. The Sachs shock can be setup as good as any other.

Also interested in hearing the headstand story!
