I too need to upgrade my helmet, I am still using my old Arai Stanton replica. Any comments on a Fox or a Troy lee?

I have an older Troy Lee (2006?) and the fit is a bit odd, there are pressure points on my forehead and scalp. I think the new models don't have this issue as much. I also have a Suomy and a UFO Warrior. The Suomy is light, but the UFO is lighter still. I like the UFO, it was priced good and they look cool in my opinion. Main thing with helmets is to realize what shape your head is. With my oval shaped noggin, the Troy Lee is an option, but not if I had a round head. UFO seems to be plenty roomy for me, that might be good for those with round M&M shaped skulls. Suomy seems a bit in between.

You can LIGHTLY sand away the EPS (styrofoam) liner to alleviate pressure points, but that is for minor adjustments, and something I haven't tried on my Troy Lee, but should. Never compress the EPS to adjust fit!

If you can go to a shop and try on some lids, that would be very good to determine shape fit, along with size fit.

I have a similar vintage troy Lee helmet. I've always loved it. Fits perfect and excellent venting. All previous were HJC models

Stay far away from Scorpion. The white finish on my new VX-34 has yellowed and the clear coating is flaking off. Scorpion has refused to do anything about it. My 10 yr old scorpion helmet is still bright white.

JT has there left over 13's for $99. I was going to try one but haven't found many reviews on them.

I was told by a UFO rep, but never researched it personally, that UFO helmets are made by Airoh in their factory. My brother liked his Bell Moto 7 before he had a big get off over a 45' table top jump. I made him buy a new lid and throw it away. He too got a UFO.

All that to say that the new Bell Moto8 looks good and light, I'd put that on my short list of premium helmets to consider.

I try to replace my helmet after 5 years of use, just so it will work when I need it to.

Hey mate, i just picked up a 2013 FOX V4. I really like it - it is super light and fits great. The air flow through them is very good, really noticed the difference in foggy goggles from my old SHIFT helmet.

I have two Troy Lee, one Air and the other I can't remember right now...I always ride with the Air. I took out the screen in front and it dramatically increase air flow which was already good - but we are in Houston...

After a lot of online research I spent much time at almost all the dealers within a 60 mile range trying on many types of helmets... Firm believer in seeing for myself, not taking someone else's opinion, especially when the product has such an important job. In the end, this did not sway me but I do agree with it:

Mine is well loved and Fumiaki red to match my Beta.
