I wouldn't go so far as to say lie, but definitely an estimate, not actual. And I never believe the weights myself.

All that to say if you don't believe the weights posted by any manufacturer, then why complain about one?

I was misunderstood on where I stand on this. I know the weights aren't "true", but a good comparison tool between the models.

I am complaining because a simple figure as a weight SHOULD NOT be the same on the COMPANY WEBSITE for EVERY bike. A XC200 does not weigh the same as a EC300. My XC250 does not weigh the same as the EC250. It just screams carelessness on GasGas's part. This is especially true in this day and age of chasing the golden goose egg of light weight enduro machines. So why as a manufacturer, would you not list your lighter models as being lighter than your bigger bikes like the EC300? Especially a bike like the 200 that is directly competing against the Beta 200RR and older KTMS. Those dudes are chasing a light flickable machine with enough power to do anything, and interested buyers may see the 105 kg stat and just be turned off from GG completely.

As much as I think the weight is mostly irrelevant, why bother even listing it if it is just copy pasta. Might as well list the weight of the E10 and take bragging rights.

Eating less pies will make more difference, but an unprofessional first look is lasting.

Honestly, I bet the 200 is probably no more than a kg or two off what the 250/300's weigh since it's the exact same chassis and even the same engine cases, trans, etc. so I don't really see the issue. If weight is all someone cares about then GG isn't for them anyway.

Take a stock bike, bolt on all your favourite aftermarket goodies, throw a couple of buckets of mud at it and how much does it weigh now? It makes nonsense of anything a maufacturer may quote.

Remember when bikes were suddenly 5 pounds lighter a couple of years ago when they stopped using lead batteries?
