Default does your bike starts in gear?

because mine looks like doesn't , when I stall and start right away it will start but when I park in gear for few minutes or longer it will not start.

My start does not even work properly... the e-starts on this bikes are a real shit.

I was having problem for some time now, last week i put a new battery and it worked for one ride, but never in gear, only in neutral and only on second stab of the button.

Yep starts in gear hot and cold. But starting a bike in gear cold is just cruel and stupid. 😜

I guess it depends a bit on kinda of gear oil used.

Clutch plates and oil cause a lot of drag.

For a comparison, just try pushing your bike in neutral, then try pushing it in 1st gear with the clutch pulled in.

If your bike starts in gear I think you're lucky, but I wouldn't complain if it doesn't.

BTW, mine's an old 2004 and doesn't have electric start. I've heard a lot of people complaining about the electric start being weak. I can only assume this is because GasGas kept the starter motor and battery size down to a minimum to save weight.

I'm kick starter only on my 07, but gear oil makes a difference. With std Motul Transoil I cant kickstart it in gear. But with motul Transoil Expert I can.
