Shift shaft play
Hi all, I was changing the shift shaft seal using this method http://youtu.be/53KPK6qcaeU on my 2007 ec250 and noticed there was play on the shaft itself. A few mm in and out, no play left and right as you look at the shaft. Is this normal?

A few mm sounds a little high to me but it should not be an issue as long as it shifts ok. Do you have the thick metal core inner clutch cover gasket? The inner clutch cover is the inward stop for the shift shaft.

Thanks for your replay, I'm unsure if I have for 2 reasons
A) I have never opened the bottom end B) I'm not very experienced mechanically, but I'm learning!!
