I think you will only change the noise level by going to a different silencer. I picked up a lightly used FMF TC-2 as I needed to get a US Forestry approved silencer. I was also happy that it is slightly quieter than the stock hockey stick which is probably due for a re-packing.
Keep it quiet ! The less people hear you will result in fewer complaining to close your riding areas.
