2011 GasGas EC 300 Jetting baseline
Hello all. I am new to the GasGas world and to this site. Thank you all for what you do on here!
I know this topic is well beat but I hope you don't mind me hitting it one more time lol. I need some jetting help please. Current settings Main: 168 Pilot: 35 A/s: 1 3/8 turns out Silde number: 7 Needle: N8RH second clip position from bottom Elevation is 650' Temps when riding are usually between 40?f and 80?f I know that's a big enough difference. Bike ran well when I test rode it a few months ago but I felt it could be better. I tore my ACL so I'm out of riding for a while so I'm busy taking the bike down and doing required maintenance, mostly cleaning it all. I would sure like some tips and help jetting the bike to it's best and if need be I'll obviously tweak it further. I've read different needles perform better than the one listed. Just looking for some old time Gassers with experience to chime in. Appreciate you all. Happy Thanksgiving! |

I have the same bike and ride in similar temperatures, elevation and have torn both acl's.
When I got my bike it had a 38pj and 145mj with JD blue needle. I was fooling a lot of plugs from riding at slow speeds with my kids and the fuel millage was not so good. A lot of the recommendation i saw were to go to a 40, 42pj and a 178,180, 182mj. There is a wide range of needles available, the two I will trying out are the NECW and NEDW. Before putting the bike away for the winter I tried out a 165 mj and liked the results. Low end power seemed to have increased but it seemed like the bike took a longer time to warm up. I am very much looking forward to the snow melting but that wont be until end of April. |

It should be noted that Neels has the 36mm carb and not the typical 38mm so jetting will be slightly different.

Muddertrucker and frankinberg I sure do appreciate the info fellas. I'm seeing these results or very close from other places as well. And yes Memphis you are correct it is the pwk 36 not the 38 as some have mounted. This I did not know before posting this.
Well the best results will come from riding with it jetted somewhat close and fine tuning it from there. Again much appreciated for all the info. Gonna be doing head work and probably a new piston before I get to ride again. Will be freshhh when time comes to braap!! |
