main bearing failure right side 2006 ec300, rebuild tips needed.

I made the switch from GRO Synth-7 to Amsoil Dominator a couple tanks back. Not long enough to comment but I do like the colour GRO is gold and really hard to tell if its been mixed or not.

Like GMP said, moisture is the enemey. I'll occassionally stuff the air boot with rags and wrap a few plastic bags over the filter cage to clean the airbox out. Most the time I keep the old filter on while I was the bike and then make sure to start it and bring it to temp before storing it. I also take the time to set the piston at TDC before storing it. Stops any moisture making its way in through the exhaust.

I was just repeating what I've read elsewheres on the dominator causeing rust, there was no visible rust on my crank or rod just the rollers and cages on the bearings, hell I still run the stuff I cant be too worried about it lol.
I always run the bike after washing it too, I dont know what the p o did to the bike tho he was pretty slack with anything maintance related.
