Default Low Oil light at idle

I found out that the oil light on the 2007 FSR I'm looking at comes on at idle. The owner said that there is some fix that has to do with the clutch cover?!

Can someone tell me about this problem, and whether it may have affected the longevity of the motor?

Thanks

Yes there should have been a recall done on the bike which replaces a side cover including a seal in it. Find out if the recall has been done, otherwise it may have a different problem(Maybe even costly).

All bikes in Australia had a recall for the clutch covers.
If the crank seal in the clutch cover is faulty it loses oil pressure.
Some times it could be just a faulty switch.
You will se that Gas Gas fixed this on the 08 bikes by removing the switch.

Thank you both for the insight and help. I've left the issue with the owner of the bike to get resolved. My only hope beyond will be that the "low pressure" hasn't already done too much damage. Considering the bike has low hours and has been on Synthetic, hopefully we'll be OK.

Anyone know what the pressure is supposed to be at idle, and how to measure it?

Thanks again,
Andrew
