Uggghhh. There has to be some relationship between Yamaha and Gas Gas. Who can explain otherwise.
This will work like GM and Toyota. |

I still think the GG FE 450 was a superior bike to the yamaha.. at least in the last few years.. they get the bugs all worked out then walk away??

That was his intention all along.
GasGas said they hired him to do R+D on their new 4 strokes. |

i wouldn't ride/own another 450 bike to race harescambles with even if they gave me one.
GG two strokes are the bomb diggity.

+1, I hate them in the tight woods or technical trail. Steve is right, the latest 450s got very high ratings. I think the public is tiring of 450Fs though. DI 2strokes will eventually make them dinosaurs.

Hopefully they are taking what they learned from that run and modeling their new prototype after that. Loose some weight, quiet it down a bit, a improve reliability and those would sell out west, I'd contemplate one for desert racing and open HS. Roscoe

bleh I too have below zero interest in a 450 bike for trail use, if I got one for free I would sell it for a two stroke
I do keep a 4 stroke around for use on the road |

As much as I dislike 4 strokes, the 2012 KXF250 is a very nice bike. I could probably race enduros with one without too much problem. Minimal engine braking, good torque for a 250f, easy starting, efi, sub 220 lbs. Its still a 4 stroke though.
Pretty much off topic, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. |

I beg to differ a little on the opinions of 450's being no good in tight single track.
I have owned nearly all 2t's up until my GG450 and I reckon it's one of the best single track bikes I've owned, yes it's a bit heavy but as long as you are moving it's no prob. The engine is so user friendly, I find I can ride the GG longer in the tight stuff than my KX250 that is set up for bush. But I'm sure Gas Gas designed the 450 for this in mind.....
