Default GG 125 clutch crossover

I have an '02 GasGas 125xc. It is my understanding that the clutch crosses over with a Honda CR125 (I think GMP said this) - does anybody know what year? I seem to remember it being the same as a '00 CR, which then covers '00-'07, but I'm not positive on that. I'd like to change out the entire assembly with one from a CR, assuming it'll drop in. Anyone have any insight on this esoteric beastie?

Thanks - JayC

My brother worked with Hinson on this, sent the OEM GG basket to them and they matched it up and attached the gear. I'm almost certain it was from the pre '00 version Honda CR125, whatever that run of years may be. '00 is the year YZ piston that fits the bike.

So, PRE '00? According to Hinson's site, that should cover '87 all the way through '99. Any chance of verifying this with your bro? I shot Hinson an e-mail to see if they have any records that document the clutch crossover.

It was the '87 through '99, which makes sense as the GG 125 was in development during that time and if a CR clutch was used as a model that would be the one.

Here is another option that I always thought was slick. This guy machines the worn basket fingers and installs hardend steel clips, so no more wear. I have no idea if he is still in business but I found his number. Give a call and report back, he has no website. This was featured in Dirt Bike mag a few years back. Id like to do this to my Ducati eventually as the dry clutch wears baskets faster than a wet clutch.
