Default Dual sport the EC250?

I need to buy a vehicle or DS my bike. So I was thinking of DS just because it would be fun.

So I am thinking of doing the RB mods instead of a Eric Gorr 275 because it is cheaper and my top end looks great. I would also gain some power to pull taller gearing. I would also send my wheels to TRC for anodizing, and a full rebuild to make the thing ride better at speed, also LTR for suspesion.

So how is your DS EC 2 stroke? I am interested in set-up. So thanks!!!!

The only downside I've seen is the subpar fuel mileage. I don't think my EC300 has broken 30mpg.

I'm not sure why the newer (since the power valve?) bikes aren't that great when it comes to fuel ecomony. My 1974 Kawi F9 350 got around 40 mpg and my 1975 Kawi H1 500 with chambers and stock carbs was good for 50 mpg. I'm not complaining too much - my '00 KTM 380 would out run either.

Well seeings how most big trucks run under 15MPG fuel milage is not too much of a concern. Do you have you EC300 plated?

Hi, I ride my EC250 on the road, riding to work etc. I have similar settings with yours apart for 13/50 gearing. Mine is euro spec with plate and all the necessary road legal things required to make it legal(horn, blinkers, brake switches etc) which I have removed. The only problem when I ride it on the Athens streets is that I keep pinning it down the main boulevards (does about 135km/h in 6th) and power-wheelie on the first 3 gears. Its really fun passing between the cars on the back wheel and scrubbing through tight turns. Its a real blast!!!!
On long straights I ride either just before the PV is starting to open(about 60-70 km/h) or opening and closing the throttle to get the bottom end lubed. Mine idles perfectly for hours after I got the LTR jetting and PV cover. Its a great do it all bike and as quick as my full spec DRZ motard (440 now).

My 06 ec250 is plated, and I have done some DS rides with it, but it's just a little out of it's element. I find myself trying to keep it from opening the PV and that's just a little too slow on roads with the gearing I run. (13/51). I am changing chain and sprockets this winter during the rebuild and will try a 50T, so it might help a little. Bottom line, a 4t is a superior DS mount due to top speed and not having to mix gas at the gas station. That's why I bought a 400. But it's not the right color guys. I'm sorry.

Sounds good to me. If yours can do 60KPH before powervalve with 50T rear then I am set. Thats about as fast as it will ever need to go. Otherwise I might end up getting a new Gasgas in the near future.
