Do I need the thermostat?
I ordered a new radiator hose kit from As3 and I saw in a different post some people saying they took theirs off and don't use it. Is there a specific reason why? And when I get my new hoses should I just install them and not worry about the thermostat? I live in Las Vegas and ride around the area, not sure if the climate/temps matter in making the decision.

No, you don't need it. It will just take your bike an extra minute or two to warm up without it. I think it is only there as a Euro thing to help get the bikes up to operating temperature quicker in order to help reduce emissions.
I've removed mine as it's just another possible point of failure that I don't need when riding 20-30 miles from civilization.
