Default Riding while armed?

Any one else ride with a weapon?

Edited to stick to the simple question of, anyone carry when they ride?

I'm sure this is going to start a pro vs. anti gun debat.

Only when I'm with you

Might be useful though on occasions such as this - delivered a bike to a customer and we went for a 50 mile trail ride - and he had 6 grand in his backpack!

Never had to here in Australia but not as many people carry guns here as people in the usa. Was it the blokes land you were riding on?

I was not on private land. It was a marked forest road that went by his and several other properties. After speaking with the sheriff's office they knew exactely who I was talking about and have had several other compliants about this individual. I guess he owns and works a mine and is really paranoid.

Forgiven, I really don't have anything to say to your un-informed comment.

Nato, thank you for asking if I was on his property or not.

In Indiana it's illegal to carry a hand gun on an "off road vehicle", even if you have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Now if you have a plate on your bike, as I do...

I never did until I had a crazed land owner run into the middle of the road and point an ar-15 at my face and tell me how fast he can empty the magazine into me. I now carry a small 9x18 Makarov mounted on my chest protector. Small, light weight and effective.

12 yrs. ago I recieved my conceal carry permit and all that class taught me was, not to carry. Because of 150,000 reasone and each one is a dollar. (the cost of a lawyer)

I'm sure this is going to start a pro vs. anti gun debat.
where we ride is on the canadian river. public land. last ride there we rolled up on about 10 hunters blocking the trail.. they let us by finally, but it sure makes you think.. i was riding with a freind of mine who always carries..

my luck i would crash on it and have a nice gun shaped bruise..

Gasser...chill out

MANY of us riders ride on others land and are incredulous when people get upset about it.

Could be a crazy old man, but I am willing to bet dollars to doughnuts many people maybe even people you know get onto his land. I fight this ALL THE TIME at a club I belong to. Almost had to kick a guy out of our club that I grew up riding with. It is ALWAYS the same story. I have ridden that land for years...they don't know it was me...I didn't hurt anything or anybody...blah blah blah.

Crazy old men don't start out as crazy old men. They get their rights walked all over an no one will do anything about it then they get frustrated...then they buy an AR. Some day that man may shoot someone...probably will be the wrong guy, but usually there is something to what they are upset about.

WE the off road community are our own worst enemy. If we are honest with ourselves you know it to be true.
