Unabiker Radiator Guards
Hey guys, I just finished installing my Unabiker Radiator guards and I figured I would post up here for all to see.
A little back story on Unabiker. They are located right here in Indiana and all of their products are churned out of a small 40x60 building in Brian's (owner) backyard. The shop is filled with all sorts of cool WWII era machinery such as, screw machines, brake presses, and tube cutters. Along with the help of a few CNC machines and all his old school machinery Brian and 1 other employee churn out some of the nicest looking radiator guards and skid plates you can buy. Anyway so I received them in the mail only 2 days after ordering and they were packaged very nice and all the hardware was included. Install was really easy and straight forward. Once installed they look great and I'm pretty sure you could run over my bike with a semi truck and it wouldn't bend the braces or radiators. Retail is $90 for bare metal finish and an extra $20 for red or black anodized. Edit: I had to trim a little bit on the back side of the shrouds to make them fit over the braces. Nothing a hobby knife or dremel wouldn't take care of in about 2 minutes and it doesn't affect the integrity of the plastics either. I imagine you would have to do this with any type of guards though since the shrouds were touching the unprotected radiators as well. I have these on my bike.
I was suspicious about them as the metal is thinner than the other brands. But, they have held up extremely well to a lot of abuse . |

How much in steering reduction?

None on my bike. The top of the guard is shaped so it doesn't interfere with the fork/clamp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love mine. On the 07 EC300 with the Marz 45's the fork never hit the unabiker guards, but I just finished the "fork swap" to KYB SSS (48's off an 06 YZ450F), and they hit the top of the unabiker's, so I just notched the top of the front screen. Actually the bolts on the TC hit, not the fork itself...But like I said, they are a perfect fit for the stock setup. And yes, they are tough... I know because my bike spends more time on it's side than upright.

Timely thread. Last weekend I managed to push my starboard rad back into the volt regulator?, bend up the front screen, and break off the lower shroud mounting tit in a suprise slow speed, darkly lit get off. Damn invisible tree tip. I was looking for ripped out spokes when I saw the bent radiator.
[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] https://youtu.be/-6fRcsSeHs4 The rad still holds pressure and I bent it back by hand so that the upper shroud tit fits into the grommet. I'm sure the damage would have been much worse. Back to Ty-Rap fasteners! Thankfully ATGATT and not even a bruise after tumbling into a pile of logs. |

That was a nasty little get off there. Wonder what the radiator would have looked like without any guards?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm always surprised how much abuse the radiator will take. Mine were mangled to the point that guards weren't even close to fitting. I had to do a lot of prying and bending to get them back to decent shape. That was two years ago. Still no leaks.
