Default R1468N Needle options?

A friend has a 1999 KTM 200 with the AS1 carb (don't know the size). It has an r1468n needle in it right now. I don't know the jet size yet (will know more Saturday). My questions are these:
  • What are the characteristics of the R1468N needle? How does the bike run (typically)? Aggressive? Docile?
  • Can I swap in one of the popular NEDW type needles with minimal effort/jet swapping? How is the diameter and length of the r1468n match up to the more common (in my garage) four-digit needles?

Google is, as always, one of your friends
It seems like R1468N is the DGJ needle
http://www.frankmxparts.com/epages/6.../Products/1492

Here is the size chart:
http://www.jetsrus.com/a_jets_by_car...n_N427-48.html

So if you know the sizes of your Suzuki needles (NEDW and similar) it sholud be easy enough to figure out.
One difference is, afaik, that the Suzuki needles are triple taper needles while the 3-letter ones have only one taper.

I had one of those 200's for a bit.. it was very aggressive power wise. do a search on the ktm power valve setting, it is pretty weird... mine was all the way one way, set closer to mild it was much better..

it is a very "busy" bike.

Yeah, the bike just stands up right now. No control, the front wheel just points up.

I looked at the sizing charts yesterday (was tired, and didn't want to sprain my brain too much more), so I just need to figure out the DGJ to N*** conversion. Maybe after I rest my brain this afternoon, or maybe not. We'll see. I'm pretty analog, so printing and comparing will be my best bet.

I didn't know the three letter needles were single taper, but I did know that the N*** are triple. Which needles are double taper again?

Great info in that thread, thanks for the help. We'll be working and riding this Saturday on all of the bikes, so we'll play with that along with jetting.
