GoPro lenses
I found these accessory lenses for the GoPro that will eliminate the super wide angle look. Quite a range to choose from. They will fit in the stock housing. Disassembly of camera is required but doesn't look bad, especially for a savy GG owner. This should put the fisheye issue/complaints of the GoPro to bed. I may get one, I emailed them which would be best for MC helmet cam use.

I'd be interested in seeing how these work. I agree, the super wide view sucks for helmet came use. No depth.

According to Dennis at Ragecams, the 3.6mm would be best for our helmet cam use, not as wide as stock lens view but wide enough. The 6mm and up are used for guns and model aircraft video. Nice thing is it still works in the waterproof housing, I wash mine in the sink after a ride. Sounds like just what is needed to cure the only real GoPro flaw.

Finally, that wide angle on the Gopro makes you look like a wimp after all the bragging you do about the hard trails you ride....

So wide = wimpy I guess? I haven't posted any hard stuff yet, but it does tame the terrain. Too bad suspension doesn't work that well.
I have no issues with the GoPro under visor setup now that my visor noise is fixed. Easy on/off and you don't know its there. Plus, if it does come loose by chance you will know it as it will fall past or into your face. If you go with their mounts on top or side though it will be cleaned off in short order unless your in open terrain. |
