Default Ideas needed for Spring Ride

So GasGas Man and I have been kicking around the idea of having a GASGAS RiDER Rally, sometime in the spring. Just a casual get together, someplace that would offer a good 2-3 days of riding in an epic location.

He has suggested Durham Town Plantation in GA, and I must agree that would be a good spot, but how many of the GGRC members would make the trip? Would the majority prefer a more western location? Personally I would love the opportunity of going back to Colorado for a 3 day adventure around the Gunnison area if we could convince Fritz Kadlec to ride point.

What about doing something in Hatfield-McCoy country?

Lets start talking about this now and hopefully make something happen.

What say you?

Hatfield would work for me but I'm from Ohio. We have anybody in Arkansas or Missouri? A little more centrally located.

I know a place that will put on free accomodation for a few nights, serves cold beverages, and has a swimming pool

I'm in AR and we have White Rock, Ross Foundation land, Gruber is just over in OK, Chadwick is just up in MO, we can get a full day of riding here at the house as well. Lots of places to ride but might take a little shuffling to keep 'fresh trails' for 2-3 days. The WUDI ride always last a couple of days at White Rock

I would be interested if it was central. I'm in Missouri and Chadwick would be about the only place here, but like stated to squeeze 2-3 days would be difficult. Been wanting to travel to some of that more southern open riding.

Gunnison or Moab gets my vote for western riders. Both have a *bazillion* areas to ride all within 5 minutes to an hour (at worst) of a centralized location. Fritz is a standup guy for Gunnison area. Jim Ryan at dualsportutah.com heads these kind of rides up with regularity and is a fantastic guide for the Moab area (and i think he still rents gassers if anyone's bike goes "out of service". We just came back from Moab sunday, had 3 days of PHENOMENAL riding. Rod this group get together is a great idea. Maybe we do need to do a few rides like this a year in different regions. Count me in!!!

My husband and I would definitely be in if it is more centrally located (and if a Husaberg is allowed. lol) and would certainly try to go if it is somewhere else. I'd love to go to some of those east coast locations but I don't get a lot of vacation time so I'd just have to see how it all shakes out.

Hatfield - McCoy would be perfect but I realize it is a little far east. But man oh man some of the best single track in the world is there

My vote would be for Moab, but that's because it's close enough that I could make it. Well, and it's awesome.

If it ends up being in SW Colorado or SE Utah I'm in for sure. If it's early spring Montrose might be a better bet than Gunny weather wise that time of year. Fritz could make the weather call if you throw him some dates.

At any rate, it could be held anywhere in Western CO and you couldn't run out of terrain.
