bike power
Last weekend I was riding in a restart format enduro, after my second to last test section my bike started to act weird. I will start and run just fine, but when I am about half throttle it feels as if I do not have any power. So then I will shift up to the next gear and the same thing will happen. So what do yall think, is it my reeds or do I need to rejet my carb. Or is it something that I am not even thinking about.
Please help..... |

Bog at high fuel demand conditions, no previous problem, my bet would be on the gas cap vent. Same thing happend to my '07. Once the cap was removed and tank vented, it was fine for a few miles. Verify this and if its the problem enlarge the hole in the rubber cap boot and make sure the ball check valve moves free.

I once had a bog every time I opened the throttle more than perhaps 30%. It was a piece of grit in the main. Also managed something similar when I set the float too low.

Uh Oh, be prepared for an adventure. There appears to be varied causes for this single symptom.
There's a guy that spent $1500 and the fix was to get angry, remove the silencer packing and scream it down the road trying to blow it up! He would back off from the point where the power went flat and hold it there. Another said his fix was to replace the carb, as the needle hole was worn out. Another tried a different carb with no success. The p/v can be an issue. Worked for me. No apparent damage to be seen. Draining an exhaust chamber full of fluid likely won't help either. Don't rebuild the top-end, that hasn't resolved the issue for any posters that I've read. Including meself. |

Another vote for the cap vent.

My vote(s):
1)cap vent 2)PV issues 3)Float set too low(unlikely if it hasn't been messed with though) |

Problem found
It was my power valve, I called SMS and they told me to take the Right power valve and make sure it was getting full motion. Aa screw that held the Stick lever set and exhaust valve braket together had come loose. I just put the screw back in and it is working just fine.
