14 front sproket

Learnt a lesson on my 2010 ec300 today.Brought a nice Renthal 14 front sproket to experiment getting the gearing a bit wider.Cheaper than replacing a rear sproket.It doesn't fit! It touches the clutch assembly.
Thought it is worth writing up if anyone else was thinking the same.

The rear sprocket for a 1991-1993 suzuki dr250S fits GG enduro bikes (I have one on my 300). They are still made by JT Sprockets and Primary Drive and others. I picked up a 49 tooth rear(steel) for less than the cost of a front sprocket. They also come in a 42 tooth sprocket which would give you a drive ratio close to what the 14 counter shaft sprocket would have.
P.S. The dr250 and the dr250S use different sprockets and only the "S" model fits.

JT rear sproket JTR822 fits the Gassers. It's the Husky sproket

Your 2010 may be a different distance from the counter shaft
sprocket axis to the clutch hyd. master cylinder than my
1999 EC250. At least on my bike it is possible to mount a 14
tooth countershaft sprocket.

I had to remove the swing arm pivot bolt and slide back the
swing arm to get it to mount.
As well as using a dremel grinder to remove maybe .03-.05 In.
of material from the master cyl.
I am using 14/40 gearing on my EC250SM Motard.
I like it. It was worth the effort for my purposes.

I'm too chicken shit to take a grinder to my new bike.I am hoping for a similar result with a 13/46 combo.Noobi gave me a good contact.

What kind of riding do you do??? Most of go the other way like 13/50, 13/51 or 13/52.

Yeah, I'm intrigued too. I would like it if the ratios were spaced out a little more. I'd like a slightly lower 1st gear, but I don't want to lower the whole lot. After all, it's such a torquey motor it could handle a wider spread.
