There is no such things as a 2016 Gasgas EC, 200 or other displacements.
I have a 2015, mine has got black rims. As far as I know, the 2017 production has been only 250 and 300cc so far.

Actually GasGas sold some not completely assembled bikes in early 2016 or late 2015 from the assembly line with some bits like wheels or bits of suspension missing. So - technically speaking 2016 bikes did not exist, true, but factory actually released some bikes with 2015 VIN numbers during the period which would normally be the time of production of the 2016 model year.
I know for fact that at least 2 of these bikes are in Estonia and these are 200cc bikes like the one mentioned in the original post. So there could be a similar story behind this bike. This would also explain these golden rims.

So who makes a 200 out there? 200's have always been big sellers, well green and orange anyway. Maybe Beta or Sherco will avail the oportunity. 200's are my preference, so I'm biased.

As far as I am aware of, noone at the moment
The orange one has been replaced by their new 150, and Gasgas has made none or at least not a lot this year. I suspect the fire at S3 might have something to do with that, but I really don't know.
What the green ones do, I have no clue, as green offroad bikes are not very popular here in Norway. Mx bikes are, but not kdx klx and what their names might be.

Sherco has just shown their new 125 in Milano. Rumours sak that ut will be followed by a bygger brother, perhaps 170cc or thereabout. But nothing official yet. Antar, Sherco usually does one thing at the time, so I guess they will establish the 125 in the merket before they release their next model.
I have heard no rumours about a Beta 125 or 200, but that doesn't mean they are not working on it.

One brand new 200 is still available at Estonia's importer shop. Another one was just sold yesterday...
