yeah it did feel lean as there was loads of chatter which now has gone
im happy with it now so im going to leave it alone lol with its sm wheels the front wheel has not even met the ground yet lol

Right my needles are here , any tips on where to start with my as2 carb in a 300 , just above sea level and around 70 degrees f

Which needles you working with?? My method for anything is basically the same. Needle in the middle clip. Big rich safe main jet. Slide only just open. Air screw 1.5-2 turns out. Change the pilot jet until the bike starts easily and idles well. Fine tune with Air screw. Then work on the needle clip position. Its most noticable 1/4 throtte through to 3/4 throtte. Finally dial the main in if required.

Not sure what to expect with the CCK/CEK. With the rm needle I'd suggest 42 NEDJ#3 175 as a starting point.

Thanks pal , out of interest do you ever sleep , im just fixing my rad shouds as i snapped the lower bracket off , then its in with the z start before i play with the jetting

That's exactly what i'm talking about. Last time I rode I went with JD"s recommendation 40p 180m blue needle. Bike was way to rich up top so i'll try a 175 back in it this weekend.

Right iv put the cck in 2nd from top
175 main
42 pilot

Max tickover is about 3.5 to 4.5 turns out , do i need to go up to a 45

If you are winding out the air screw, you need to decrease the pilot. You want more air/less fuel in the pilot circuit.
