The boot was like that when i picked it up, I thought nothing of it. Subframe hasn't been touched. Waiting for dealer to call back.

So a new battery, new filter, and new air boot. Should be back on the trail in no time. Is warranty going to cover some of the costs?

Be sure to get one of those lithium batteries. Save 4lbs in weight.

Maybe a bad mold process on that boot(temperature, release agent, etc.). Hard to believe though considering modern injection molding controls but who knows how they do it.

They should but a small, flat LiOn battery in a sealed box under the rear of the motor between the frame rails, that pivots down and out of the way for oil changes. A friend and I started looking at a variation of this for his WR250F. It would eliminate all this airbox nonsense and make estart weight more of a non-issue.

Look for Shorai, I don't have e-start so don't know the GG OEM battery. I have a cross chart here at the shop but someone may know.

Be sure to neutralise the battery acid with a mixture of baking soda and water.
