Default What is the best US event to ride for a tourist??

If I was coming over for a holiday and wanted to ride a cross country style event, what would you suggest? I am an Over35 Clubman rider.

I like the wet, technical stuff, and hate the desert.

Anyone want to lend me a bike???

GNCC's are going to be the best spectator events. Most of the are great to ride also. I would stay on the east coast for wet, technical stuff. Here is a website for the Inaugural AMA Enduro Trials on Oct. 16th & 17th. There are some big name factory riders signed up for the event. It is at the Trials Training Center in Sequathie, TN which hosts several World and National Trials events. Hope that helps!!! [URL="http://www.endurotrials.com[/URL]

Oh yea! The Trials Training Center usually rents bikes. They are a GG Trails dealer and about 5 minutes away, we are the GG Enduro dealer.

If you're going out West, events in Oregon or Washington put on under OMRA or NMA sanctioning will be just fine. Local type events. Technical wet riding from October, well, maybe November through May. I have bikes to rent. PM me if you are going out West and I'll set you up with a race, and a bike. I also am a technical rider, and have displeasure for racing in the desert, so I wouldn't do that to you.

Took the words out of my mouth.
That race is a class act. VERY well run. Every small detail is well thought out.

Would you come for a particular event, or for a vacation in a particular part of the US and choose an event there? From what you say I'd say northeast, southeast, or northwest. Local event(s) in Vet B class. Planning to come soon? The northeast season is winding down and will be done in November. One advantage of the northeast (ECEA and NETRA) is the local events are relatively close together both in time and distance from each other during the season, so you have a lot to choose from. That said I'd love to ride the northwest myself someday when I have time.

If you want some extreme wet tech stuff sure to kick your butt, stop in Hawaii and hook up with some locals.

G'day, I am coming from Australia mate.

It is much easier to go to the west coast, but the East Coast GNCC's would be a dream come true.

Roostafish, sounds like you have a great setup there on the west though. I might have to start asking the missus of she wants to go to the USA for a holiday.
