EC 125 silencer
I have just been lucky enough to get hold of a mint FMF fatty pipe for my EC 125.
I would also like to replace the rear silencer, but the only silencer FMF sell for the EC125 is the TurbineCore 2. The TurbineCore 2 does not excite me. In the UK I do not need a spark arrestor in the exhaust. What are peoples thoughts to buying a YZ 125 FMF silencer and making it fit? Does it need to be a specific length just for the Gas Gas or will another manufacture of 125cc bike be close enough? I would prefer experienced answers rather than guesses please |

The "turbine core" part of the muffler is riveted in.
You can drill the rivets out and remove that part. Then shorten the muffler on the outlet side to allow the end cap to be used. You will have to drill new holes for the end cap screws. |

or just run the turbine core ... sparky is required in the US National Enduro series ... doesn't seem to slow down the pros any .....
otherwise I'd take the above route .... |

Do you think the FMF silencer would be any better than the standard messico silencer ?
I could just re pack the stock messico and save money if the FMF is not that good or even buy a DEP silencer as they are not expensive in the UK. In the GasGas Riders tested fourm the TurbineCore does not get a very good review ? |

if you have an old pipe, could you buy the other silencer off the yz, and have a welding shop weld on the proper pipe and mounts, in the correct place? i have considered doing this, so that i can get the FMF Q for my 250.

After running the OEM GG silencer(Messico), FMF TC2, and FMF Stealth on the 250, I'm back the the OEM. Smaller, lighter, better fit, and best power. Not a big difference but the bike just runs great with it.
My nephew runs the FMF pipe and OEM Messico on his GG XC125, works fine. Just repack it and ride. |

My EC has not been my first choice of bike but I defiantly go the fastest on it because I just don't give a damn about it and just bash and thrash it As you can see I needed a new pipe after cutting out a big dent and welding in a plate. Caused by brake checking another rider a bit hard during enduro cross race |

If you're riding ACU events, the FMF silencer doesn't quite pass the noise regulations.

Well I have fitted the front pipe now and it would fit lovely if the bike had no right radiator
I have taken the radiator bolts out and fitted the pipe and it seems to move the radiator up 5mm and no moving about makes it any better What the hell I am going to do now, I'm not sure so I will sleep on it before I take a big hammer to it Rather annoyed as I was hoping to go out on it in the morning |
