Talking Side Stand Mod, help needed

Hi, does anyone know the lengh of a standard side stand on a gasgas ec300 2002? Mine leans over sooooooooo far. It falls over or fuel escapes. Everything looks straight, maybe someone has cut mine down!, as it had supermoto wheels in it when i brought it. Please can someone measure theres and post me back.

Cheers Speno.

The kickstand on my bike is approximately 16.25" long. I measured this from the bottom of the kickstand (foot pad) to the center of the pivot point.

the carb leaking might be an internal problem with the float. There is a thread on here or smacktalk about leaking carbs.

supermotos has a shorter kickstand for sure.it lean the supermoto quite much and if you put 18-19/21 on the bike my guess will be that it do not keep the bike standing at all.

we had issues with that right out of the crate. i had the Techs. checking every bike's float height on assembly. i also had them checking ignition timing. a couple of bikes had "retarded" timing from the factory. don't know if it's still an issue. you'll know...the bikes run super hot and the exhaust glows cherry red.

Default GG carb leakage with kickstand

I have a brand new 05 MC 250, and my carb leaks about 25% of the time on the kick stand, even on flat concrete. I do have the 19" rear wheel, but I think that the low profile stands about as high as the higher profile 18"will sit and idle all day and jetting seems correct with kit, so I'm confident float level is correct. It's a stock GG DE stand I bought from Gofasters.

Back to the leakage. I think the stand is short and makes the bike lean too far. If I don't put the stand down on higher ground than the bike, it's likely to sink into the dirt and fall over. I haven't fixed it yet, but I think a thick piece of steel slightly bigger than the stock foot welded to the bottom might cure it. Of coarse I'll do the mod to suicide kickstand to keep that heavy metal from kicking back and breaking my shin bone. the mod is on this forum somewhere
